Volunteer
Foundation for Peace accepts summer interns, short-term volunteers and long-term volunteers to work in the Dominican Republic. Service time vary from 3 months to a year or more. Many volunteers are individuals who have gone on an FFP mission trip and loved it so much they want to serve for a longer period of time.
In-country needs change and interns respond to these needs. Interns often help host American mission teams and support in-country staff. Sometimes they teach in local schools. DR interns live in the FFP house in Santo Domngo.
Anyone considering becoming an in-country volunteer with FFP must:
- speak intermediate (or better) Spanish
- be responsible
- be flexible
- be enthusiastic
- work well with teams
- take initiative
- possess good communication skills
- be comfortable serving others
- be empathetic
- have a growing relationship with Christ
Interns/long-term volunteers are responsible for raising the funds to cover their expenses during the duration of their internship.
