FFP teams have been partnering with the Living Word Church (LWC) in the Mathare North slum for 17 years. For the first 8 years we worked together at the ByGrace Academy in Ngong, providing the basis for the substantial growth in their ministry to orphans, some from Mathare.
Since then, we have labored together to build a new church, community center and a larger Christian family in the Mathare slum. In collaboration with African Enterprise and Medical Missions Africa, we provided medical care for thousands of patients. As an outreach of LWC, we have conducted bible school lessons for thousands of children, education programs for adults, fed the hungry, sponsored children to go to school, helped people recover from fires and flooding and so much more. Consistent with our motto, “We Can’t Do Everything, But We Will Do Anything”, we continue to address the church and community priorities.

Participants: Open to individuals, families and groups who want to serve in the name of Jesus Christ with our Kenyan brothers and sisters. Medical and non-medical people are needed!
Description: Multi-faceted trip to Mathare North, Nairobi, Kenya:
- Conduct a medical clinic in the community center for 3 days to provide free care and medicines for about 1,000-1,500 people in the slum
- Attend church worship services, participate in evening devotions and provide a Bible school lessons to kids
- Work hand in hand on a construction project for the church
- Visit HIV/AIDS patients and their families in their homes with LWC volunteer caregivers
- Meditate in a prayer garden
- Stay at safe, a beautiful retreat center with great food and ride in a well-maintained bus with an expert driver
- Tour an animal park
- Join an optional safari at the end of the trip

Cost: $2,450 plus airfare
Trip fee includes your needs (food, comfortable lodging, purified water, in-country transportation, pre-trip preparation), and the needs of our Kenyan partners: construction materials, all medical supplies, Kenyan medical personnel at the clinics, lunch for people working at the church on the project or with the team, food and supplies for HIV/AIDS patients and their volunteer caregivers and post-trip follow-up.
Does not include airfare, personal expenses, special excursions, safari or other non-standard items.
