Community Partnerships
A foundational principle of FFP is to collaborate with community leaders based upon their priorities for community development, not our own. We partner on projects and programs with those living in the community who have identified their greatest needs.
Addressing Fundamental Needs for Livable Conditions
A safe and healthy place to live is a human right. Many are living in insecure and unhealthy conditions. FFP initiatives are designed to alleviate conditions that foster poor health, vulnerability, and despair.
FFP helps:
- Housing for the vulnerable.
- Feeding the hungry including the disabled, elderly and children.
- Water accessibility for daily life.
- Sanitation/latrines to eliminate contamination and life-threatening illnesses.
Hope and Help for those without Legal Identities
Thousands of people of Haitian descent are living in the DR with any legal documents that provide access to education, employment, and health care. Without a birth certificate or ID card, there is little hope for advancement.
FFP helps by:
- Collaborating with the Haitian Embassy in the DR to assist people with getting these documents.
- Providing the Haitian Embassy with computers, mobile internet, fuel, and scanners to enable more people to get served.
- Deliver the documents to the people in their community so they can avoid travel to areas where they might be vulnerable.
